Motivating people in interactive design is a mix of information, education, and mastery. Here are some ways.

Using information to provide clear, brief, and related information that helps users understand the way the design works. This can be done through insightful lines, and helpful feedback within the design.

Help users by educating them on how to use the design. This could include tutorials, tooltips, and other learning aids that guide users through the interactive experience.

Using mastery by creating a user experience that rewards skills and provides a sense of accomplishment as users become better. This is often called gamification and it is an online marketing technique to encourage engagement with a product or service.
