the final project
In the realm of visual storytelling conceptual photography stands out. It goes beyond capturing the moment, it dives into ideas and emotions. Through carefully planning how they take their pictures; photographers can create images that can cause the viewer to think and feel deeply.
One part of conceptual photography is using captions to enhance storytelling and make viewers think about the story behind the image.
The conceptual photography theme that I am exploring is surrealism. By using this theme, I am challenging reality, by blending the real world with fantasy. I hope that I can cause emotion and make my viewers think with it.
The visual elements I am using are the sky, my shoes, trees, my daughters, and a glass ball. The lighting is mostly outside light.
The statue falling with little yellow umbrella.
(below image)
In this image the statue is falling from the sky and holding a little drink umbrella which is a great (at least it is)conceptual photograph because it defies the laws of gravity and nature.
Pop art lily
(Below image)
This is my daughter lily in pop art form. This is conceptual because it makes the viewer think. For example, you are thinking why am I putting this picture in with the conceptual photography? Plus, it is a cool image.
The converse is falling, the converse is falling!
(below image)
I used my converse because I love all of my converse shoes and I have been wearing only converse Chuck Taylor shoes since I was 16 years old.
Daisy and the tree.
(below image)
This is my daughter Daisy blended with a tree. I do not really know; I was trying to blend images together and ended up with this.
Lily and the trees
(below image)
Lily and some trees again I do not really know but they turned out pretty cool.
The glass ball and my reflection
(Below image)
This one was an accident, but this was great because it showed my reflection, and it is just a cool picture. It is thinking outside the box even if I did not mean to.
My project challenges traditional photography because the images invite viewers to stop, think, and love the art behind the photos. This project fits in my overall portfolio because these photos express my art, and my ability as a photographer. They are a part of who I am.
This project has helped me go on a journey of self-discovery, creativity, and perseverance. By discovering conceptual photography, it has paved the way to set goals for myself, be true to myself, and hopefully become a great photographer.
The individuals that are in this project are my daughters Daisy and Lily. Thank you so very much for reading this and have a wonderful day!
