Little Girl

in the dark of the night

a little girl cries

her daddy is gone

taken by surprise

tears fall like rain

she’s in so much pain

in a world so cruel

where nothing is the same

Her world shattered,

her heart torn wide

her daddy’s gone

no more by her side

memories of laughter

now tinged with pain

echos of his voice

like a gentle rain

she clutches his photo

feeling the strain

but through this darkness

there is a glimmer of light

in the love he left behind

that burns so bright

she will carry his legacy,

with all of her might.

for her daddy’s love

will never sway

in her heart

he will forever stay.
